Week 2 Journaling Prompts for ECE

Hello!
Welcome to week 2. Thank you for subscribing to self-reflection and personal growth! Grab your favourite writing utensil, paper/notebook/or keyboard and find some space to write whatever comes to mind.
Here's your journal prompt for this week
Who did you look up to as a child? Who was the important person/people to you? How can you be that person for those little ones you work with?
My Story
For me, that was my grandmother. She was such a calm, caring, and loving person. I always felt safe with her, and always had fun with her. She taught me a lot about baking, cooking, kindness, adventure, and wonder. No matter how I felt outside of her presence, she would ground me and make me feel important and like I mattered to her. She was a good listener. She showed up with a heart that never judged. She would involve herself in my play, or watch me act out a scene, a dance or a musical. I still strive to be like her in my mid-age years.
I show up as an ECE in much the same way. I listen, observe, participate, offer compassion and empathy, and my presence and time to the children I work with. I build authentic and professional relationships because I have seen and FELT how important they are.
Share if you wish
Feel free to email me your thoughts from this prompt, or share a story! This is optional, of course, as you do not have to share anything.
Email: atplaychildcare@yahoo.ca if you would like to share. I may anonomously feature your story/share in next week's blog.

... especially Fostering Connection in ECE/Early Years as it may fit well with today's journaling.
Thank you for diving into your own professional journey with me.
About Me
I am an ECE educator for 25 years, with a diploma as an Education Assistant and a degree in Child and Youth Care. I wish to make pro-d for educators by an educator who understands the career journey, the struggles, the successes, the burnout, the love of child development, and so much more.
Your Call to Action
Take care of yourself this week. I challenge you to find one thing you enjoy and do that this week, even if its only for a few minutes. Find something that brings you joy because you deserve to take care of you, too!
