This ECE thing is... exhaustingly glorious.

How tired do you feel, because I am exhausted!

Early Childhood Educators Care a lot! We give a lot to others. Do we give enough to ourselves?

In my 25 years as an ECE i think I have quit this career at least three or four times now. But I keep coming back to it because I love it. I feel I was meant to work with children. So, why would I want to leave a career that I love?

BURNOUT... I work too much, care too much, take home too much. I had no strategies to help me navigate a profession that requires a lot of co-regulation, energy, attention, focus, and connection.

I care for children, parents, and staff members needs all day, then come home to children, chores, errands, routines, activities, and caregiving duties. I flop into bed at night and realize I haven't spent any time doing even one thing for me. They say that I'm in the thick of it - those years of parenting and working (and studying), but it seems that its never ending with not enough time in the day to accomplish what I NEED to, let alone have any time for me!

As I sit and reflect, I realize that I gave too much to everything else and not enough to myself. It took me a long while (of therapy, furthering my education, self-reflection, a divorce, and a continuous non-linear healing journey with myself) to balance the give and take this profession (and life) requires.

I GET IT and I GET YOU... because I've been there. I would love nothing more than to share with you my strategies, tools, resources and conversation. I know more of you are struggling with burnout, too. I can hear it, see it, and feel it within you.

Please come join me and other ECE in my workshop - Burnout in Education: Self-Care for a Caring Profession, for only one hour of your time. I hope to give you some insight, compassion, understanding, and feeling that you are supported.

Give yourself the honour of learning more about self-care strategies (not bubble baths and face mask but really empowering and simple strategies) so you can enjoy the life and job you love!

Come join me and other fellow Burnt Out ECE's. Lets Chat.

Take care of you,

Michelle
